How I

Work

Basics

Who are you?

I’m Vian, a designer and video editor based in Indonesia, working with agencies and in-house marketing teams across Southeast Asia. Most of what I take on needs both halves: an identity and the video that carries it, a packaging design and the campaign that launches it.

What do you actually make?

Brand identity — logos, systems, guidelines. Graphic design — layout, print, digital, social. Video editing — short-form, brand films, motion. Usually all three land on the same project, which is the point.

Why both design and video?

People usually come to me because they’re tired of coordinating. A designer makes the assets, an editor cuts the video, and someone in the middle spends three weeks getting the two to match. I do both, so that gap doesn’t exist. I also draw, so the artwork can be exactly right rather than the closest thing I could license.

What does working together look like?

A call, then a short written direction we both agree on. Two or three visual routes — you pick one, we refine it. Then identity, assets and edit get produced together, against the same brief, so the launch film matches the deck and the deck matches the feed. Handover is files, guidelines and source projects, organised.

How long does a project take?

Most run four to eight weeks from brief to handover. I also take retainers for teams shipping continuously. Short one-off briefs are fine too — just say what the deadline is up front.
